How do I manage customer notes on an iPad?

Adding a customer note to a customer’s profile can help you and your sales team keep track of a customer’s order/quote preferences, your previous and upcoming meetings with them, follow-ups, or any other information that you think is important.

Customer notes only appear on the customer’s profile and not on orders or quotes. Customers are therefore not able to see these notes.

Here’s how you manage customer notes on iPad:

  • Log in to the Onsight app.
  • Tap on the ‘Customers’ icon at the bottom.
  • There are two ways to add a customer note on iPad: when adding a new customer and when editing an existing customer.
  • To add a customer note when adding a new customer, tap on the ‘+’ icon in the top right-hand corner to add a new customer. Fill in all of the customer’s details in the fields provided. Scroll to the ‘Notes’ field and type your customer note in the blank text area provided. When done, tap ‘Save’ in the top right-hand corner.
  • To add a customer note when editing an existing customer, tap on an existing customer’s icon. Scroll to the ‘Notes’ field and type your customer note in the blank text area provided. When done, tap ‘Save’ in the top right-hand corner.
  • To update a customer note, tap on an existing customer’s icon. Scroll to the ‘Notes’ field, tap in the text field and edit the customer note using the on-screen keyboard. When done, tap ‘Save’ in the top right-hand corner of the page.
  • To delete a customer note, select the existing customer’s icon whose note you want to delete. Scroll to the ‘Notes’ field and tap once in the text field. A cursor should appear at the end of the last sentence. Now tap and hold the ‘Backspace’ key on your on-screen keyboard until all of the text has been removed. When done, tap ‘Save in the top right-hand corner.
