{"id":123,"date":"2014-07-01T13:58:26","date_gmt":"2014-07-01T13:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.onsightapp.com\/user-guide\/?p=123"},"modified":"2025-08-03T17:10:41","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T17:10:41","slug":"how-do-i-add-and-update-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onsightapp.com\/user-guide\/how-do-i-add-and-update-users\/","title":{"rendered":"How do I add and update users?"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Log in to the Onsight web console at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sales.onsightapp.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/sales.onsightapp.com<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u2018Settings\u2019 from the left-hand side menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the \u2018Users\u2019 menu item.<\/li>\n<li>To add a new user, click on the &#8216;Add User&#8217; button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>To update an existing user, click on the name of\u00a0the user, click the &#8216;Edit&#8217; button, make your changes and then click the &#8216;Save&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>To delete an existing user, click on the &#8216;Delete&#8217; icon for that user.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For each user you can specify a range of configuration options.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are creating a login for a sales rep or other staff member then leave &#8216;Is Customer Login&#8217; set to &#8216;No&#8217;. If you are creating a login for a customer to be able to self-order then change &#8216;Is Customer Login&#8217; to &#8216;Yes&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>You are required to fill in a name and email address for each new user.<\/li>\n<li>Creating a password for the user is optional. If you leave the password blank a confirmation email will be sent to the user containing a link to activate the account and for them to choose a password themselves. This option is more secure. If you fill in a password you need to personally contact the user to provide them with the login details.<\/li>\n<li>Choose an &#8216;Access Type&#8217; for your user. For sales reps, choose &#8216;User&#8217;.
