These are called customer groups. Within a customer group you can assign specific discounts and prices for products. You can also restrict access to products based on which group a customer belongs to.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Examples of customer groups:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Retail and Wholesale \u2013\u00a0Create different price lists for retail and wholesale customers<\/li>\n<li>Platinum, Gold and Silver \u2013 Apply discounts to repeat customers based on customer loyalty<\/li>\n<li>Location Name \u2013 Have customers from different areas view different prices (especially useful if you are using Onsight in your retail stores).<\/li>\n<li>Special members \u2013 Restrict content to customers in certain groups or add special discounts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to create a customer group<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to the Onsight web console at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sales.onsightapp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/sales.onsightapp.com\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on \u2018Manage your data\u2019 from the left-hand side menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the &#8216;Customer groups&#8217; menu item.<\/li>\n<li>You will see a list of all of your customer groups.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the &#8216;Add Group&#8217; button at the top of the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Enter a name for the customer group.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8216;Save&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to assign a customer to a customer group<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to the Onsight web console at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sales.onsightapp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/sales.onsightapp.com\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Click on &#8216;Customers&#8217; from the left-hand side menu.<\/li>\n<li>You will see a list of all of your customers.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the customer that you would like to allocate to the customer group.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8216;Edit&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<li>In the &#8216;Customer Group&#8217; field select the customer group. If you have many groups, you can type the first few letters and it will appear.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8216;Save&#8217; button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Data volume limits<\/h2>\n<p>On the Business plan, you can have a maximum of 5,000 products and up to 100 customer groups. Each combination of a product record and a customer group record generates a new price list record. The combination of products and customer groups is limited to 320,000 price list records.<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have 5,000 products, you can have a maximum of 64 customer groups (5,000 \u00d7 64 = 320,000).\n<li>If you have 100 customer groups, you can have a maximum of 3,200 products (100 \u00d7 3,200 = 320,000).\n<\/ul>\n<p>These limits do not apply if your Onsight account is connected to an ERP system \/ accounting system, as all the price list data in your external system will automatically sync to Onsight.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Where can I use customer groups?<\/h2>\n<p>You can use your customer groups to assign discounts, to override prices and to restrict access to products.
