The rate depends on the product itself rather than who&#8217;s buying it. In Onsight, this means using product taxes rather than customer taxes. There are three standard rates: Standard (20%), Reduced (5%, eg. children&#8217;s car seats and some energy-saving materials), and Zero (0%, eg. most food and children&#8217;s clothes). Each product is assigned whichever rate applies to it. Customers are then marked as taxable or not. Most will be taxable. The two exceptions are charities and overseas customers.<\/p>\n<p>If you use one of the Onsight connectors that connect to your ERP or accounting system (eg. QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, NetSuite, SAP B1 or Sage 50), the connector will copy across these VAT rates for you and also copy across each product&#8217;s correct tax rate directly from your accounting system, so you don&#8217;t have to go through and assign a rate to every product yourself.
