How do I manage customers’ GPS coordinates in the legacy Windows app?

  • Log in to the Onsight app.
  • Swipe down to reveal the top navigation bar and tap on the ‘Customers’ icon.
  • There are two ways to add GPS coordinates for a customer in the Windows app: when adding a new customer and when editing an existing customer.
  • To add GPS coordinates when adding a new customer, swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap on the ‘Add’ icon. Fill in all of the customer’s details in the fields provided. Scroll to the ‘GPS Location’ field. If you already know the coordinates, simply copy and paste these in the field provided. Then swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap ‘Save’. Alternatively, tap on ‘Show Map’. If you have entered a shipping or billing address, you can tap on either ‘Use Billing Address’ or ‘Use Shipping Address and the system will automatically calculate the coordinates accordingly. You can also use the map displayed to pinpoint your customer’s location. When done, tap on ‘Save & close’ at the top of the screen. You will be returned to the customer’s profile. Swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap ‘Save’.
  • To add GPS coordinates when editing an existing customer, select an existing customer from the icons provided. Scroll to the ‘GPS Location’ section. Swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap on ‘Edit’. Scroll to the ‘GPS Location’ field. If you already know the coordinates, simply copy and paste these in the field provided. Then swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap ‘Save’. Alternatively, tap on ‘Show Map’. If you have entered a shipping or billing address, you can tap on either ‘Use Billing Address’ or ‘Use Shipping Address’ and the system will automatically calculate the coordinates accordingly. You can also use the map displayed to pinpoint your customer’s location. When done, tap on ‘Save & close’ at the top of the screen. You will be returned to the customer’s profile.   • To edit the GPS coordinates, tap on an existing customer profile. Swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap on ‘Edit’. Scroll to the ‘GPS Location’ field and if you know the GPS coordinates, tap in the text area and edit these using the on-screen keyboard. When done, swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap the ‘Save’ button. Alternatively, tap on ‘Show Map’. If you want to use the ‘Use Billing Address’ or ‘Use Shipping Address’ features, edit either the shipping or billing addresses and the system will automatically recalculate the coordinates accordingly. You can also use the map displayed and move the marker to the new location. When done, tap on ‘Save & close’ at the top of the screen. You will be returned to the customer’s profile. Swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap ‘Save’.
  • To delete the GPS coordinates of a customer, tap on an existing customer profile. Swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap on ‘Edit’. Scroll to the ‘GPS Location’ field and select all of the text. Use the ‘Backspace’ key on the on-screen keyboard to remove the text. When done, swipe up to reveal the bottom navigation bar and tap the ‘Save’ button.
