How to configure order and quote confirmation emails for customers

When an order/quote is created in Onsight your customers can receive an order/quote confirmation email.

You can configure your account to either send order/quote confirmation emails to all your customers or only to selected customers. You can also decide not to send order/quote confirmation to any of your customers or only exclude some customers from receiving order/quote confirmation emails.

There are two settings to manage order/quote confirmation emails for customers.

Setting 1: Global setting for all customers

You can decide if you want all your customers to receive an order/quote confirmation email or not.

To enable this setting:

  • Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
  • Click on ‘Settings’ from the left-hand side menu.
  • Click on the ‘Configuration’ menu item.
  • Click on the ‘Order Emails’ tab.
  • See your present email settings for orders.
  • Click the ‘Edit’ button.
  • Enable “Copy orders to customers?.
  • Click the ‘Save’ button.

Now all your customers will receive an order confirmation email once an order has been created. You can repeat the same process for quotes.

Setting 2: Individual setting per customer

While you might want to send an order/quote confirmation email to most of your customers, there might be some individual customers to whom you do not want to send the confirmation email. In this case, you can ‘opt’ individual customers out of the global setting.

This setting will override the global setting for an individual customer. To enable this setting:

  • Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
  • Click on ‘Customers’ from the left-hand side menu.
  • You will see a list of all of your customers.
  • Click on the customer that you want to override the global setting for.
  • Click the ‘Edit’ button.
  • Go to the ‘Configuration’ tab.
  • You can change the ‘Order confirmation emails’ and ‘Quote confirmation emails’ dropdowns.
  • Click the ‘Save’ button.

For the two dropdowns that are there, you can choose between the following three options:

Option 1: Use default settings
This option will follow the global setting for all customers. See the section titled ‘Setting 1: Global setting for all customers’ above.

Option 2: Email orders/quotes to customer
This setting will override the global setting. Choose this option if you want this specific customer to receive order/quote confirmation emails.

Option 3: Do not email orders/quotes to customer
This setting will override the global setting. Choose this option if you do want this specific customer NOT to receive order/quote confirmation emails.
