If you have a lot of items in your catalogue, uploading each image one-by-one can be cumbersome. The Onsight admin console allows you to bulk upload your product images instead. Before you can bulk upload product images, you need to upload all your products without any images. If you have not done so already, please follow this guide to bulk upload all your products. After you have completed your product import, you can proceed to do the process below.
Click the “Download” button and save the the product images data sheet to the new folder that you previously created. Once done, click on ‘Continue’.

| Guidelines for adding image file names | |
| 1 | The file extensions / image formats can be JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG. You can also use an image URL. |
| 2 | If you want to add multiple images, you can list all the file names in the ‘Image File Name’ column separated by a comma without a space in-between. For example: Pic1.png,Pic2.png,Pic3.png |
| 3 | List your file names in the order that you want them to be displayed. |
| 4 | If you already have an image listed as the ‘Primary Image’ for a specific product, you can replace this image by typing a new file name into the ‘Image File Name’ field and adding that new image file to your folder. |
| 5 | If you want to add a second image to the existing image, then you need to make sure that both the original image file plus the new file are listed in the ‘Image File Name’ field and you also need to make sure that both the original image file plus the new image file are in your new folder. If you only list the new image, it will replace the old image. |
| 6 | If your image file names are structured (eg. all images are named after the product code, for example) then you can easily generate the image name field by copying and pasting in Excel and by using some Excel string manipulation techniques. If your image file names have no structure you will have to type them in one-by-one. |
Save your zipped file. Click on the ‘+’ button and select your saved zipped file on your computer. Once done, click on ‘Continue’.
Click the ‘Import’ button to start the import process. Your data sheet will be analysed and validated. Once the import job progress is at 100%, click on either:
‘For review – view and approve this job’. If your data sheet passes validation, you will see a list of updates that will be applied once you approve the import job. If everything is correct, click ‘Approve Job’ and your data will be imported into the database.
or
‘Failed – view the job’. If the data sheet fails validation, a list of errors will appear, which you must correct before uploading it again. Click on ‘Cancel Job’ and correct the data in your upload data sheet and then start at Step 3 again.
Typing out each and every image name one by one into the upload spreadsheets can be cumbersome. It is better to have your images named according to one of the product fields. Then you can easily generate the ‘Image File Name’ field by copying and pasting in Excel and by using some Excel string manipulation techniques. Let’s say that your images are named after the product code. You can copy and paste the product code field into the ‘Image File Name’ field. Then you just need to add the file extension (eg. .JPG) to the field in order to complete it.
