How do I copy products from one Onsight account to another?

If you have a need to copy your product data from one Onsight account to another, you can use the Onsight web console to export your data from the source account and then import it into the destination account.

Follow these steps

  • Log in to the source account using the Onsight web console at https://web.onsightapp.com.
  • Click on ‘Catalogue’ from the left-hand side menu.
  • Click on the ‘Manage Products’ menu item.
  • Click on the ‘Action’ button at the top of the screen and then click on ‘Import Products’.
  • This will open up the product import & export tool.
  • Click ‘Download’.
  • Save the XLS file to a folder on your computer.
  • Log out of the source account by clicking on ‘Log out’ in the top right-hand corner.
  • Open up the XLS file on your computer and delete all the values in the column called ‘Onsight ID’. These IDs are from the old account. For the new account we need all values in this column to be blank. Save the file.
  • Log in to the destination account using the Onsight web console at https://web.onsightapp.com.
  • Click on ‘Catalogue’ from the left-hand side menu.
  • Click on the ‘Manage Products’ menu item.
  • Click on the ‘Action’ button at the top of the screen and then click on ‘Import Products’.
  • This will open up the product import & export tool.
  • Under ‘Upload data sheet’, click on ‘Select file’.
  • Choose the XLS file that you previously downloaded.
  • Click on the ‘Import’ button to upload the data sheet.
  • Your spreadsheet will be analysed and validated. A progress bar will appear.
  • After the analysis is done, click on ‘View and approve the job’ to see a list of updates that will be made to your product catalogue.
  • If you are happy with the changes, click on the ‘Approve Job’ button so that the data sheet is actually processed and your product information is imported into the destination account.
  • If the spreadsheet fails, you will be shown a list of errors that you need to rectify before uploading it all again.
