How do I download a PDF catalogue for a selection of products?

Onsight allows you to generate and download a PDF catalogue for all your products or for a specific product category. However, you might want to download a PDF catalogue for a specific list of unrelated products. To do this you can put those products into a temporary product category as an additional category to their main category, then browse to the temporary category and generate a PDF for it. Then to clean things up you can remove the products from the temporary category and delete the temporary category.

Here are step-by-step instructions for how to do this.

Create a new temporary product category:

Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
Click on ‘Manage your data’ from the left-hand side menu.
Click on the ‘Products – Categories’ menu item.
You will see a list of all of your product categories.
To add the new temporary category, click on ‘Add Category’.
Fill in a name for the product category and upload an image. Toggle the ‘Active’ field to make the category inactive so that your users do not see it.
Click the ‘Save’ button.

Add your products to this temporary category:

Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
Click on ‘Manage your data’ from the left-hand side menu.
Click on the ‘Products – Quick move’ menu item.
You will see a list of all of your products.
Use the search filters to find the products that you want to include in the PDF.
Select the products.
Click ‘Actions – Add additional category’.
Choose the new temporary category.
Click ‘Add additional category’.
Repeat this process till all your products have been added to the temporary category.

Generate a PDF for the temporary category:

Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
Click on ‘Manage your data’ from the left-hand side menu.
Click on the ‘Products – Categories’ menu item.
You will see a list of all of your product categories.
Click on the temporary category, and then click on ‘Edit’.
Toggle the ‘Active’ field to make the category active so that you can see it. Note that this will also make it visible to your users.
Click the ‘Save’ button.
Click on ‘Catalogue’ from the left-hand side menu.
Browse to the temporary category and click the PDF icon there.
The PDF will take a few minutes to be generated.
You will be emailed a link to download the PDF.

If you intend to use this category again, then all you need to do is make the category inactive so that no-one can see it. Then you are done.

If you do not plan to use this category again, then you can remove your products to this temporary category and delete the category itself:

Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
Click on ‘Manage your data’ from the left-hand side menu.
Click on the ‘Products – Quick move’ menu item.
You will see a list of all of your products.
Use the search filters to find the products that you previously selected for the PDF.
Select the products.
Click ‘Actions – Remove additional category’.
Choose the temporary category.
Click ‘Remove additional category’.
Repeat this process till all your products have been removed from the temporary category.

Remove the temporary category:

Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com/.
Click on ‘Manage your data’ from the left-hand side menu.
Click on the ‘Products – Categories’ menu item.
You will see a list of all of your product categories.
Find the temporary category and click on the ‘Delete’ icon.
Confirm that you want to delete it.
