How do I manage customers’ GPS coordinates in the web console?

Your sales reps can update customers’ GPS coordinates while on the road using the app but we’ve also added the same functionality to the admin console just in case you do not have access to the app and need to update a customer’s record. Here’s how you manage customers’ GPS coordinates in the web console:

  • Log in to the Onsight web console at https://web.onsightapp.com/.
  • Click on ‘Customer’ in the left-hand side menu.
  • There are two ways to add GPS coordinates for a customer: when adding a new customer and when editing an existing customer.
  • To add GPS coordinates when adding a new customer, click on the ‘Add Customer’ button. Fill in all of the customer’s details in the fields provided. Click on the ‘Address’ tab at the top of the screen and scroll down. If you already know the coordinates, simply copy and paste these in the text field provided. If you have entered either a shipping or billing address, you can click on either ‘Resolve From Billing Address’ or ‘Resolve From Shipping Address’ and the system will automatically calculate the coordinates accordingly. Click the ‘Display Map’ button if you prefer to pinpoint your customer’s location on Google Maps. When done, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the screen.
  • To add GPS coordinates when editing an existing customer, select an existing customer from the list provided. Click on the ‘Address’ tab at the top of the screen and scroll down. If you already know the coordinates, simply copy and paste these in the field provided. If you have entered either a shipping or billing address, you can click either ‘Resolve From Billing Address’ or ‘Resolve From Shipping Address’ and the system will automatically calculate the coordinates accordingly. Click the ‘Display Map’ button if you prefer to manually pinpoint your customer’s location on Google Maps. When done, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the screen.
  • To edit the GPS coordinates of a customer, select an existing customer from the list provided. Click on the ‘Address’ tab at the top of the screen and scroll down. You have three options. You can either edit the coordinates directly in the GPS Coordinates field, move the marker on the Google maps plug-in to a new position or enter a new billing or shipping address and select either ‘Resolve From Billing Address’ or ‘Resolve From Shipping Address’. When done, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the screen.
  • To delete the GPS coordinates of a customer, select an existing customer from the list provided. Select all of the text in the GPS Coordinates field with your mouse or using the CTRL+A keys and then select ‘Backspace’ or ‘Del’ on your keyboard. When done, click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the screen.
