How do I set the maximum distance for customer check-ins?

This article explains how to change the maximum distance that your sales reps are allowed to be from a customer location when they check in at that customer. This is known as geo-fencing.

The default maximum distance that your reps are allowed to be when they check into a customer location is 5,000 m.

You can change the distance by following these steps:

  • Log in to the Onsight web console at https://sales.onsightapp.com.
  • Click on ‘Settings’ from the left-hand side menu.
  • Click on the ‘Configuration’ menu item.
  • Click the ‘Edit’ button.
  • Scroll down to the ‘Check-in settings’ section.
  • Type a new number into the ‘Max check-in distance’ field.
  • Click the ‘Save’ button.

If you want to let your sales rep check in at any location for all customers, then keep the ‘Max check-in Distance’ at 0 (zero) metres.

If you want to let your sales rep check in at any location for a specific customer, then don’t allocate a specific GPS location for that customer.
